Citadel: Forged With Fire Talks About Throwing Entire Castles Around

citadel forged with fire green magicRemember that new Harry-Potter-meets-Skyrim game that we told you about early yesterday morning called Citadel: Forged With Fire? Well, Blue Isle is getting the hype train rolling by shining the spotlight on the game's magic system in today's feature highlight.

“Today we begin our series of Feature Highlights by taking a look at the force at the center of just about everything in Ignus: Magic! As you explore, fight monsters, and build the castle of your dreams you will also grow in experience. You’ll want to use this experience to expand your knowledge of the arcane arts if you’ll have any hope of thriving in this harsh world.

At launch, Citadel will offer you a diverse range of powerful spells, with many more to come in the future. You can do some really cool stuff with our magic system: not just combat, but also beast taming, telekinesis, resource collection and much more.”

Your spell repertoire includes Pacify, Extract, and Telekinesis. Pacify is used to charm enemies, Extract to gather resources, and Telekinesis to move things around. “As your grasp over the magical arts grows you will eventually unlock the ability to levitate physical objects and propel them at high speeds,” says the devs. “While you may be thinking you’ve seen this type of thing in a hundred other games, we’ve taken it to a completely new level. Sure, you can use this spell to turn simple objects – rocks and branches, for example – into projectiles, but can you think of another game that lets you pick up and throw entire freakin’ castles? Didn’t think so!”

Players will also have access to a variety of mage-appropriate weapons such as wands, staves, and gauntlets, as well as melee weapons like swords and axes which use less mana.

Citadel: Forged with fire hits Early Access on July 26th. We expect more feature highlights in the days to come so stay tuned. We've included the official announcement trailer below just in case you missed it yesterday.
