Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick Says That 2020 Release Titles Are Still On Track
In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic that has forced most companies around the world to a standstill, game development studios continue to thrive thanks to the digital nature of the gaming industry. One of these studios is Activision Blizzard whose CEO, Bobby Kotick, assures gamers that their 2020 projects are still on track for release.
“As of now, we're on track to deliver compelling new content, including the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion and the next premium Call of Duty release, both of which are planned for the second half of the year,” Kotick said during the Q1 earnings call.
According to The Motley Fool, the studio is also planning to start regional testing for the Diablo mobile spin-off, Diablo Immortal, and will be releasing two new remasters later this year. Titles and dates have yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Activision Blizzard continues to work on new titles that they’ll be launching beyond 2020, namely: Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4, both of which were announced during last year’s BlizzCon.
