Despite the recent backlash towards Activision Blizzard, the company reported strong Q2, 2021 earnings today with net revenues for the quarter coming in at $2.3B and net income (profit) clocking in at $876M, both figures ahead of expectations. Disruptions from the recent drama though wouldn't have effected Q2 numbers as the quarter ended on June 30, 2021.

Activision delivered an incredibly strong quarter with the Call of Duty franchise at all time highs in terms of revenues. Revenue for the division came in at $789M with operating income at $363. Call of Duty Mobile made a strong showing for the quarter with record revenues and an increase is players.

Blizzard reported $433M in revenue for the quarter with $141M in operating profit. The launch of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade contributed to the quarter's performance with WoW revenue increasing "double digit %" year over year. Blizzard revenue fell year over year due to lower revenues from the Overwatch League.

King Digital continued to perform strongly and reported record revenues and profits for the quarter. Revenue came in at $635M with profits at $248M. Revenue was up 15% year over year due to the continued success of Candy Crush and Farm Heroes.

Blizzard continues to the weakest of the 3 major segments at Activision Blizzard and will likely face serious disruptions in the coming quarters amidst backlash over business practices. J. Allen Brack, the president at Blizzard, also announced that he's stepping down from his position.
