Activision Blizzard Revenues Are Down Once Again For Q4 2019

activision blizzard logo 2015The last quarter of 2019 was an absolute PR nightmare for Activision Blizzard. The company was boycotted for banning a pro-Hong Kong Hearthstone player and was criticized for an utterly disappointing BlizzCon presentation.

The question is, would these have a significant effect on the company’s Q4 2019 revenues? Apparently not. Acti-Blizz’s revenues are down by 16.7% compared to Q4 2018 but slightly better than Q3 2019 thanks to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

“For the quarter ended December 31, 2019, Activision Blizzard’s net revenues presented in accordance with GAAP were $1.99 billion, as compared with $2.38 billion for the fourth quarter of 2018. GAAP net revenues from digital channels were $1.44 billion. GAAP operating margin was 23%. GAAP earnings per diluted share were $0.68, as compared with $0.89 for the fourth quarter of 2018. On a non-GAAP basis, Activision Blizzard’s operating margin was 30% and earnings per diluted share were $0.62, as compared with $0.90 for the fourth quarter of 2018.”
