Activision and Bungie bring Destiny 2 to Amazon Alexa
If this is some sort of elaborate April Fool's joke, Bungie missed the mark by a few months. A Destiny 2 Ghost Skill is coming to Amazon Alexa, free to charge, to all Alexa owners.
The Destiny 2 Ghost Skill serves as a premier companion for Destiny 2 players, creating brand-new ways to interact with the game, players can say, “Alexa, ask Ghost to…” with a variety of utterances — from “…tell me which friends are online,” to asking “…what should I do next?” giving recommendations for what to play next based on players’ real-time current progress, to “…call for back up,” which offers an easy way to interact with friends in their clan to enhance the social experience of Destiny 2, to “… equip my Raid loadout,” equipping players’ favourite weapons and armour for a number of different gameplay activities, to learning more about the world and characters of Destiny2 with a request like, “…tell me who are the Red Legion?”
Companion apps are nothing new, in the world of video games. League of Legends has a phone app. Steam has a phone app. Both of those have features that make them attractive to use. Do players really need something like this? How many gamers own Destiny 2 and an Amazon Alexa?
Bring your Ghost to life with the Destiny 2 Ghost Skill. Use voice commands to interact with your Ghost via Amazon Alexa devices.

Personal Thoughts
This seems like a giant gimmick, to be honest. But then again, there's a giant disclaimer in the press release that this is a "Forward-looking Statement," and that this is subject to change. If all goes according to plan, though, players can even pick up a Destiny 2 Ghost, as a companion object to the Amazon Alexa, starting December 19th.
