After more than a year of being exclusively available to players in North America, Aion Classic will finally be making its way to the other side of the pond early next year. Gameforge first mentioned their plans of opening classic servers in Europe back in September and have now announced a launch window of early 2023.

“In early 2023, players will return to the game’s foundations and relive the war between the Elyos and Asmodians, while also dealing with the ever-present threat of the Balaur lurking at the threshold to the Abyss Gate,” the publisher announced. “When AION Classic launches in Europe, the goal will be to introduce the content of the original AION based directly on version 2.0. In time, Gameforge expects people across Europe to experience the same original adventures and remember exactly why this MMORPG is beloved by millions of players around the world.”

Like the North American version, the Aion Classic EU will feature permanent servers which will offer players in the region the chance to start fresh in the world of Atreia. The new servers will start with the 2.0 update on launch day and will include various balance tweaks and quality-of-life improvements made since the classic version first launched in North America in June 2021.

“Additionally, exclusive content such as the new dungeons or the recently added new classes will also be introduced in Europe with future updates for AION Classic,” Gameforge said. This includes all content up to level 55 and Abyss flight, as well as the new Daeva Pass and Siel’s Aura premium features.
