Amazon Games Publishing NCSoft's Throne and Liberty MMORPG for PC and Consoles
Amazon Games announced today that they'll be bringing NCSoft's newest MMORPG 'Throne and Liberty' to North America, South america, Europe and Japan. Throne and Liberty is billed as an action MMORPG with a rich story. No word on a release date just yet, but it'll likely launch this year as the Korean version of the game is set to launch sometime in the first half of this year.
THRONE AND LIBERTY is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that combines story-driven adventure and action combat. In THRONE AND LIBERTY, players enter a vast world with constantly shifting geographical and environmental features that change the course of play. Massive-scale player vs. player and player vs. environment combat are fundamental to THRONE AND LIBERTY. Players can transform into animals to soar through the air or explore the depths of the sea, and even tip the odds of battle in their favor by triggering powerful environmental effects, like solar eclipses or rainstorms.
Throne and Liberty will be available for both PC and consoles and is the first major NCSoft developed MMORPG to target PCs in years.
While Amazon has had poor history with its own internally developed games, publishing third party games has been more successful. Lost Ark, the first game Amazon published, has been a success with the game averaging 157,000 players over the last 30 days on Steam. Amazon Games already announced that they'll also be publishing Blue Protocol and the next Tomb Raider game as well as numerous other unannounced titles. With Throne and Liberty also on the docket now, Amazon's publishing business seems to be growing quickly.
Throne and Liberty has had a checkered development history. Closed beta first began in South Korea back in 2016 as Lineage Eternal. The game was then put on ice before eventually being rebooted as Project TL in 2017 which eventually became Throne and Liberty. Still, despite a long development history, it's great to see Throne and Liberty finally making it to release.
