Anarchy Online Finally Makes Its Way To Steam

Given how long it took for Funcom to complete the Anarchy Online engine upgrade, it only feels appropriate that the aging sci-fi MMO is also the last of Funcom's games to make it to Steam. The game launched on Steam earlier today, nearly a month after the release of Conan Exiles.

Funcom CEO Rui Casais had the following to say about the announcement.

Anarchy Online is one of the longest living online games in the world and millions of players have made the planet of Rubi-ka their home. Bringing the game to Steam is something we have wanted to do for a while and we hope this will bring in new players as well as inspire veterans to come back now that it is easier than ever to travel to Rubi-ka again.

The game still has a free-to-play business model with an optional subscription and microtransactions. Hilariously, as part of that business model, you can pay $99.99 right now to skip all of that dreadful leveling nonsense and jump straight to level 200, should you so wish.

You can find more information about Anarchy Online on its Steam store page.
