Apex Legends Introduces Its New Grizzled Gunslinging Hero ‘Ballistic’
Respawn has just dropped a new story trailer for the latest Apex Legends hero via their "Stories from the Outlands" series, and it's got us all fired up! Meet Ballistic, a grizzled veteran of the Apex Games predecessor who's been pulled out of retirement for one last hurrah.
The trailer shows Ballistic minding his own business in his mansion until he stumbles upon a documentary about his Thunderdome career that sends him over the edge. The documentary ends with him getting his teammate and brother-in-law killed thanks to his "selfish" and "crowd-pandering" combat style.
But now, his estranged son wants to get in on the action, so Ballistic cleans himself up, shaves, and demands to take his son's place. Talk about a classic father-son bonding activity!
From what we know so far, Ballistic seems like a punished, guilt-ridden gunslinger, which is always a popular archetype. And his mechanical abilities sound right up our alley too - he's got the hot-headedness to take hostages, an Assault role, and the title of "Refined Gunslinger." Based on that alone, it looks like he’s going to be a total glass cannon, but we'll have to wait until the upcoming season reveal trailer on April 26th to know for sure.
We're definitely excited to see Ballistic in action when the new season drops on May 9th alongside the battle royale shooter's Arsenal update. Until then, we'll be polishing our guns and perfecting our hostage-taking skills in anticipation.
