ARK: Survival Evolved Homestead Update Improves Base-Building & Simplifies Kibble System

Good news for ARK: Survival Evolved players who want to take their bases to the next level. According to a recent press release, Studio Wildcard has just rolled out the Homestead update which includes major elements of a player-created mod called Structure Plus (S+). The update adds new customizable building pieces, increased placement options, and improves existing structures.

“Now with Homestead, the customization potential has escalated with new choices for existing structures and their placement options, as well as a myriad of additional pieces to utilize in any way your imagination can conjure. Existing buildings were preserved while all new snap points, alternate versions of structure pieces and entirely new structure pieces, were added. Triangle floors, half walls, angled pieces and much more provide survivors the ability to create stairs, ramps, triangular buildings, reworked pipes and cables, etc. These new tools let every building look as unique as its builder!”

The update also introduces a revamped Kibble system which will make creature taming a much simpler affair. Instead of over 50 kibbles requiring specific eggs, kibbles have now been narrowed down to six categories: Basic, Simple, Regular, Superior, Exception, and Extraordinary. Creatures now fall into one of these categories and their eggs can be used to tame creatures within that category.
