Artificial Core is back with a progress report for its long-delayed top-down open-world MMORPG Corepunk in its May developer update. The game’s development hasn’t been without its fair share of challenges, not the least of which is the ongoing conflict in the studio’s home country of Ukraine. However, it looks like the team is slowly and steadily making progress.

Long-time followers will recall that Corepunk was originally slated for a beta release in 2020, but it’s been delayed multiple times since then. Despite the setbacks, the team remains committed to delivering the highest quality game to fans.

“The back end and front end of the game are still not optimized, so that’s the main reason why we have not conducted Beta yet,” explained Artificial Core. “But we are working in this direction. We improved our environment for faster feedback with the help of Bots. Their behavior is very similar to that of a player; they can do practically everything the real player can – kill monsters, do quests, craft and gather resources and then craft, etc. And we will continue expanding their abilities even further. But right now we are using this for our load testing of server-infrastructure and automatic testing of the game.”

The recently published blog post treats readers to an array of enticing screenshots and video clips, providing a sneak peek into the world of Corepunk. These visuals showcase various aspects of the game including such as itemization tooltips, skin customization options, consumables, camps, enemy mobs, and captivating combat animations.
