Legendary Studios’ upcoming post-apocalyptic MMORPG shooter Ashfall will soon be heading to closed beta testing in July. It’s going to be a long wait for the game’s official launch though as the team has decided to push it back by an entire year.

“We know this news may be disappointing, but please know that the Ashfall development team is working tirelessly to make the game worth the wait,” the studio announced.

Ashfall was initially set to launch this summer but will now be launching in sometime in the summer of 2024. According to the studio, the extra time will be used to fine-tune and polish the game, and to squeeze in several more beta tests to gather much-needed feedback.

In the meantime, the team has dropped a new developer video that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of some of the game’s musical score in cooperation with award-winning Hollywood composer and music producer Hans Zimmer. He’s best known for his work on The Lion King, Gladiator, and sci-fi movies Inception, Dune, and Interstellar.

The video also offers a preview of the Ashfall’s soundtrack for the game’s post-apocalyptic world called New Wasteland. You can check out the full developer video below.
