Avatar: Reckoning Has Been Canceled Amid ‘Strategic Adjustments’ At Archosaur Games

You can now add Avatar: Reckoning to the growing list of in-development games that have been canceled over the past year. Developer Archosaur Games that its terminated development on the Avatar-licensed mobile MMO after its split with Tencent subsidiary Level Infinite earlier this month.

The game was initially announced in January 2022 in partnership with Disney and Tencent and was supposed to launch in 2022 but was delayed to late 2023. Obviously, Archosaur missed both launch windows and on January 1st announced that it had ended its publishing partnership with Level Infinite. The studio, however, intended to self-publish the mobile title and was gearing up for closed beta testing in China until the game was ultimately scrapped due to a “strategic adjustment” of its products and operations.
