No longer can only Origin Access subscribers and Early Enlisters take part in Battlefield 1's depiction of The Great War, as the game officially launched earlier today, allowing those that bought the standard $59.99 version of the game to play. They can now jump into up-to-64-player battles, destroying terrain and just generally wreaking havoc on the opposing team in what may very well be "the most immersive and dynamic Battlefield game ever."

Battlefield 1 features a variety of maps set in different terrains and the ability to call in Behemoths, the largest fully player-controlled vehicles ever seen in Battlefield," when your team is losing. Various Elite classes, whose gear can only be picked up on the battlefield, can deal serious damage in the right hands. The all-new Operations mode allows players to take part in "a series of interconnected battles," rather than simply starting over after each and every match.

DICE Senior Producer Aleksander Grøndal had the following to say about the announcement.

Battlefield 1 was a passion project for us at DICE and after years of working with the World War 1 era, we realized what a perfect fit it was for the Battlefield all-out-war style of play. This was truly a fascinating time as it gave birth to modern warfare with many weapons, vehicles and gadgets being first introduced into the world and we wanted to share those things through a modern lens for all players to experience.

Battlefield 1 is available now on Origin for $59.99.
