BioWare Is All Hands On Deck On Anthem; SWTOR’s Future In Question

anthem flight groupAll eyes have been on EA and BioWare and their upcoming online shooter Anthem since the game was first announced in E3 2017 and BioWare seems to be feeling the pressure. According to Kotaku, the bulk of BioWare personnel in both their Austin and Emdonton studios are now working on Anthem. Sources also say that there’s a notion that the future of BioWare may be hanging on the success of Anthem.

With only a handful of staff left to work on BioWare’s other titles, sources say that there have been discussions about ending development on Star Wars: The Old Republic. The studio, however, has yet to come to a decision so SWTOR fans can rest easy for the time being. According to PCGamesN, Executive Producer Mark Darrah also confirmed the studio is hard at work on the next Dragon Age game.

Anthem’s original release date of fall 2018 has now been delayed to early 2019. According to one source, the date was “never realistic.” An exact release date has yet to be revealed but the devs say it should be no later than the end of EA’s fiscal year in March 2019.
