Black Desert Online Adds Private Monster Hunting Zones In Its Latest Update

As far as MMO’s are concerned, the more people online, the merrier… until it’s not, especially when lots of people are hacking away at mobs in your favorite grinding spots. To make this less of an issue, Pearl Abyss has introduced private monster zones located in a new instance called Marni’s Realm.
The new instance will give players access to their own private hunting – or more appropriately, grinding grounds for up to an hour a day. The one-hour limit was put in place to ensure that players still go back to the main content and don’t just stay there for hours on end, BDO is still, after all, an MMORPG and not a single-player grindfest.
“It’s quite simple to use. You will need to first move to the designated spot in a monster zone, open up the special menu and click a button to enter.”
Marni’s Realm will also be limited to the most popular adventure zones and only a certain part of these zones will be available in private mode to lessen the load on the servers. “Since you will be the only Adventurer in said realm, we didn’t feel the need to open up the entire monster zone for Marni’s Realm,” explained Pearl Abyss.
“The concept of private monster zones came to fruition after we thought about how to improve the gameplay experience for our Adventurers who had limited time to play each day,” said the studio. “We first brought this concept to life in the form of a ‘mini’ server, but we felt that version was difficult to balance and didn’t offer an equal opportunity access for all Adventurers. Hence we’ve come to develop and reveal Marni’s Realm.”
