Black Desert Online Unveils Atoraxxion Vahmalkea Co-op Dungeon

Black Desert Online continues its Atoraxxion preview video series with another glimpse at what would be the first-ever co-op dungeon to be added into the game. The new trailer offers a bit of background lore and a few gameplay snippets of the first area in the dungeon - Vahmalkea.

“Constructed to fend off the threat of the dark invaders, Atoraxxion Vahmalkea—the stronghold of the ancients—is finally unveiled to the world. Work together with your fellow Adventurers to uncover the secrets of this ever-moving ancient weapon factory!”

For those who missed our report last week, Atoraxxion, the Last Stronghold, is a massive multi-part dungeon designed specifically for cooperative play. Players will have to work together to overcome various obstacles, solve puzzles, and defeat ancient weapons across four biomes to destroy the power source located at the dungeon’s center.

Atoraxxion Vahmalkea is scheduled for release sometime this summer. Pearl Abyss has yet to announce a release date or even a release window for the three remaining portions of the dungeon.

Meanwhile, the latest game update brings with it the new Barrier of Infestation multi-level challenge where a group of 3 players must defeat and soothe Kzarka, an enraged evil deity trapped inside the barrier.

“To keep Kzarka bound, Hadum has raised the Barrier of Infestation, which will only allow 3 Adventurers to enter the fight to free Kzarka. However, as the Barrier of Infestation grows stronger, Adventurers will have to muster up the courage to face Kzarka alone.

You can start the Barrier of Infestation content through a weekly quest on the Elvia Realm servers. The barrier is divided into five levels. You can start with Level 1 to 3 in a group of 3 Adventurers, but once you make your way to Levels 4-5, you will need to face Kzarka alone.”

Pearl Abyss has also kicked off a new event to get the last batch of players to transfer their accounts off to a running start. You can browse through the full patch notes on the Black Desert Online official site.
