It’s time for another roundup of the shiny new things coming to Black Desert Online that were revealed earlier this week at Calpheon Ball 2023. Some of the highlights include a new Land of the Morning Light zone and two new classes.

The first one coming out of the pipeline is the Scholar class, a dual hammer-wielding researcher who’s returned from a long journey exploring other worlds. She’ll be making her way to the Global Lab test server on December 17 and the live game on December 20.

The team also unveiled the male counterpart of Maegu who wields a sword, the power of Do, and a pipe. He’ll be making his in-game debut in Part 2 of the Land of the Morning Light expansion alongside the opening of a new zone in the titular region that’s inspired by the royal palace of the Korean Joseon Dynasty. The update will also introduce new Black Shrine guild content and a new weapon tier.

Players can also look forward to improvements to quick travel, new inventory features, buffs to monster zones, life skill changes, a full revamp of the trade system, new measures to address item bloat, and balance adjustment to Conquest and Node Wars.

There’s a Calpheon Ball 2023 summary post on Reddit and the Black Desert Foundry website if you don’t want to sit through the whole three-hour stream. You can also watch the Scholar class in action in the video below.
