Black Desert Online Comprehensive Balance Update Coming To PC May 26
The Black Desert Online meta is due for a shakeup later this month. Pearl Abyss will be rolling out a comprehensive PC balance patch on May 26, which will introduce both major and minor changes to classes across the board. The patch will include changes that will affect both PvP and PvE gameplay, some of which are already live in the Global Lab test server.
“Currently, our development process is working to improve all classes at the same time rather than focus on a few characters at a time,” said the team. “Since this is more time-consuming, it's taken us longer than expected, and we ask for your understanding regarding the longer-than-expected delay of these long-awaited changes. We are combing through the improvements we've planned as well as the feedback left by Adventurers on the official website in order ensure carefully considered changes to this upcoming update.”
Meanwhile, the maximum percentage that a spell or multiple spells will increase or decrease attack speed, casting speed, and movement speed has been reworked in the game’s latest update. Increases to the said stats have now been capped at 250% from 100%, while decreases have been capped at 50% from 100%.
“Before, multiple applications of a skill's effect or a special effect at once could have reduced the speed of any one of these stats up to 99%,” the devs explained. “Since this is quite punishing for Adventurers and is disruptive to the game's action-oriented gameplay, the maximum decrease percentage that can be applied to each of these stats has been limited to 50% (even if the effects are applied through multiple skills all at once).”
Three new Node and Conquest War passive skills have also been added, offering either a +5-25 increase in magic, ranged, or melee damage. These new skills can be learned using the Secret Book item, which can be acquired in exchange for a new Node War reward called the Resplendent Medal of Honor.
