Black Desert Online To Begin Banning Botters And Hackers In Waves

Abandon hope, all ye who cheat in Black Desert Online. Daum has your number and they're going to begin banning you in the most threatening way possible—in waves. Prepare to experience the agony of not being in the first wave, unknown to you whether you've been caught, as they prepare the waves beyond.
At least, that's what's supposed to happen. The official announcement is as follows.
Greetings Adventurers,
While the vast majority of the community consists of honest players, some users did resort to cheating by using bots and hacking tools. This kind of behavior is a violation of our Terms of Use and not tolerated by us. After an investigation phase, where we made sure to collect all required details, we will now start banning those individuals on a bigger scale.
Starting today we will ban bot and cheating tool users in waves.
Banning waves will take place in regular intervals and we will continue banning as long as we find cheaters.
There is no coming back for convicted cheaters. Bans are permanent.
We also want to thank everyone who participated in our Hacker Hunting Initiative so far.
Please keep it up! The video evidence provided by you has been invaluable to our investigations.
Given the game's notoriously bad anticheat, and the fact that the anticheat didn't automatically ban these users as anticheats are wont to do, I'm not optimistic. It appears to me that they have gathered a list of suspects based on their Hacker Hunting Initiative and are banning those users in waves. I'm sure that this will help—to a degree—but it remains to be seen if this will even remove half of the game's botters and hackers, much less keep them at bay in the future.
