Black Desert Online's Awakenings Will Now Be Released One By One, Warrior Awakening To Be Released On August 31st
Perhaps now slowly becoming a testament to why you wait until plans are set in stone before announcing them, Kakao Games Europe has once again been found to be carrying out its plans for Black Desert Online differently in practice than in theory. You may remember this post, in which CM_Tytyes stated that all of Black Desert Online's Awakenings would be released at once in the NA/EU version. A number of reasons were given, but perhaps the most prevalent was that of the imbalance that one by one releases would cause in PvP.
Earlier today, Dualshockers reported that it had learned at gamescom that Kakao Games Europe now plans to release Awakenings one by one in the NA/EU version of the game, as Kakao Games had done in the KR version of the game. The first Awakening to be released would be the Warrior Awakening, which gives the Warrior a Great Sword, on August 31st, coinciding with the release of Valencia Part 2. The releases will be much faster than in the KR version of the game—it was stated that they would be weekly or bi-weekly—but they will still be staggered, going against previously announced plans.
Players are not happy. Many feel lied to. Understandably, as CM_Tytyes had cited concerns about PvP imbalances, players are now concerned about how this will affect PvP. A few are confused, as it had been their understanding that the only reason that it took this long for Awakenings to be released is that Kakao Games Europe wanted to release them all at once.

Many of you have kindly reached out to me regarding this article and I will go ahead and confirm this information to be accurate, our current release schedule is oriented to deliver the warrior awakening on August 31st, 2016. This will be coupled along with the release of Valencia Part 2, and an accelerated release schedule for other class awakenings in comparison to Korea's schedule.
