Black Desert Online is testing out a new way to ease players into PvP in the form of the Arena of Solare. The new arena is now live on the Global Lab test server for players to try out and give much-needed feedback on. What sets it apart from the traditional PvP Arenas is that player and gear stats will be normalized to make matches as fair and as skill-based as possible.

“We understand some of our Adventurers may be disappointed at not being able to fully make use of their character’s gear, but we believe that it is more important to lower the barrier of entry to allow more Adventurers a chance to enjoy the content. Also, all buffs that are not from character skills such as meals and draughts will be removed in the Arena of Solare. (However, the removed buffs will return when you leave the Arena of Solare.)”

To make things even easier for players, they’ll be able to queue up for the Arena of Solare wherever they are in the game world and can continue playing normally until the match starts. They’ll also be returned to exactly where they were before they entered the arena immediately after the match.

The Arena of Solare will also come with its own ranking system, called Path to Ascension, with plans to add Honor and Glory-based rewards sometime in the future.

In addition to the new PvP arena, the latest test build also features adjustments to Pila Fe summon scrolls, enhancements to guild quest rewards, quality-of-life improvements, and the return of Shai’s adorable alpaca mount.
