The Musician class is preparing to unleash its Symphony of Destruction in Blade and Soul when the titular update arrives on October 12th. The Musician will be the martial arts-inspired MMORPG’s 12th class and will unfortunately be gender-locked to female Jin, Lyn, and Yun races.

Armed with a harp, the Musician uses the power of notes and melodies to deadly effect against enemies or to support allies in battle. The harp can also be used outside of combat to play actual music in the game if you want to put on an impromptu show for your fans.

The Symphony of Destruction update will also add mounts to the game for the very first time. (How an MMORPG managed to run for more than a decade without a mount system is beyond me.) Mounts will presumably allow you to take another players for a ride as NCSoft revealed in its teaser post. “Mounts will allow you to traverse areas at greater speed and enjoy the ride with another companion,” the studio said.

Players can also look forward to the opening of the new Grim Nexus dungeon and the new Ethereal Battlegrounds, as well as the return of the Treasure Trove event alongside the Windwalking Race and other in-game events.

NCSoft will be revealing more information about the update in a livestream scheduled on October 4th at 10 a.m. PDT. We’ll keep you posted.
