Blizzard Previews Ardenweald And The Night Fae Covenant In A New World Of Warcraft Shadowlands Dev Blog

Blizzard Entertainment gives World of Warcraft players their first look at the new Ardenweald zone and the Night Fae Covenant, both of which will be part of the upcoming Shadowlands expansion.

“A twilight-tinged afterlife for those closely connected to the wild, Ardenweald is a domain of restoration tended by the mystic night fae. Within this eternal forest, massive dream trees draw in precious anima—the essence of souls that flows through the Shadowlands—to feed the spirits of nature awaiting rebirth into the cycle.”

Ardenweald is the afterlife’s version of a nature reserve and is where wild spirits await their time to be reborn when they die in the mortal realm. Players venturing into its ethereal forests will be tasked with investigating a mysterious anima drought that has been plaguing Ardenweald and the Shadowlands. Completing the Ardenweald quests will reward players with cosmetic rewards including a mount and a special Night Fae-forged armor.

Choosing the Night Fae as your Covenant will grant you the Soulshape ability which will allow you to shapeshift into a Vulpin and, when re-cast, will teleport you a short distance forward. Players will also get an additional class-specific Night Fae ability.
