Wrath of the Lich King isn’t even out yet, but it seems that Blizzard is already looking towards the next World of Warcraft Classic expansion. Prior to the announcement of Wrath of the Lich King Classic, the studio sent out random surveys asking players pointed question about the expansion. It’s now sending out surveys asking similar questions about the next expansion in line after Wrath – Cataclysm.

Cataclysm is the third expansion for World of Warcraft and was released back in 2010, two years after Wrath of the Lich King came out. For most players, Cataclysm marked the end of an era for World of Warcraft not only because it drastically changed Azeroth’s landscape forever but also because Blizzard began overhauling WoW’s gameplay systems to follow more modern trends prior to its launch.

Should Blizzard decide to go forward with Cataclysm Classic, we can probably expect Deathwing the Destroyer to begin his world-breaking rampage roughly a year from now if the current expansion schedule holds.

In the meantime, we still have the journey to Northrend and the Icecrown Citadel to look forward to when Wrath of the Lich King hits the World of Warcraft Classic servers on September 26th.
