Blizzard Entertainment is inviting inactive World of Warcraft players back for Cataclysm Classic and is giving them full access to World of Warcraft Classic and the expansion’s pre-patch content for free this weekend.

Players with lapsed WoW accounts will be able to login to World of Warcraft Classic with no game time purchase or subscription required, no gameplay restrictions, and no strings attached until 10 a.m. PST on Monday.

“Gather your friends and get started on a new journey through the Cataclysm Classic pre-expansion patch and a changed Azeroth, risen from the fires of destruction,” Blizzard urged. “Play as a goblin or worgen, customize your appearance with transmogrification, and revel in new quality of life changes to enhance your time—including faster leveling in Outlands and Northrend, better Dungeon Finder, improved Collections UI, and more!”

The promotion, of course, is in line with the studio’s efforts to boost player numbers ahead of Cataclym’s relaunch on May 20. Those who decide to return to Azeroth for Cataclysm will be able to do so by renewing their subscriptions or purchasing game time. Optional upgrades are also available which comes bundled with an exclusive transmog set, mounts, pets, and toys, as well as a level 80 boost and 30 days of free game time for the epic upgrade pack.
