Just over a week ago, Neverwinter's Xbox One userbase was shocked to learn that the revamped Trade Bar Store that was originally part of Neverwinter's Underdark update was altered for the update's release on Xbox One. Many players were looking forward to the reduced price of Blood Rubies, Coalescent Wards, and Preservation Wards, all of which had mysteriously disappeared from the Trade Bar Store on Xbox One. The playerbase exploded with rage, dubbing the incident "Coalgate." As Neverwinter Unblogged put it, the reason that players were angry is that the change "wasn't exactly communicated with the community." The team then stated that they were "discussing the changes and feedback from the community" and would inform players of a decision later.

They have now come to a decision. Neverwinter PC will join Neverwinter Xbox One in the removal of Blood Rubies, Coalescent Wards, and Preservation Wards from the Trade Bar Store. The reason for the items' removal is supposedly because the team "made some mistakes when setting up the Trade Bar Store that are having negative effects on the in-game economy." To compensate, all players who created an account prior to February 18th have been given 1 Coalescent Ward, 5 Preservation Wards, and 1 Blood Ruby. Regardless, players aren't happy and many are threatening to quit or never spend money on the game again.

The removal was made official earlier today.
