By Crom! Conan Exiles has ushered in the Age of Sorcery with the launch of the titular expansion and the survival MMO’s largest expansion to date. The massive expansion introduces sorcery and magical abilities to the fictional prehistoric world along with revamps and improvements to various perks and attributes, building, and the events system.

Aside from introducing dark magic to the world, the expansion also marks a significant change to Conan Exile’s business model. Instead of paid DLCs, players will now have access to seasonal battle passes with both free and paid reward tracks.

“Battle Passes will be centered around seasons, or Ages, each introducing big content updates, starting with 3.0: The Age of Sorcery,” Funcom explains. Each season will run for around 13 weeks and will be further subdivided into chapters, each with its own battle pass and different rewards to unlock. There’s also a new cash shop called the Black Lotus Bazaar where players can purchase previously-released DLCs as well as new items and bundles using a new in-game currency called Crom Coins.

The Age of Sorcery is now out on both PC and Xbox versions of the game. You can check out the full release notes on the Conan Exiles official forums.
