Crowfall Launch Plagued By Login Issues, DDOS Attacks, And A Reward Redemption Bug

Just when we thought that we were finally going to see a perfect MMO launch with Crowfall, things began to get a bit out of hand towards the end of the day. By evening, the servers began to experience heavy loads which was further aggravated by a barrage of DDOS attacks.

“We are continuing to work on the server issues,” ArtCraft Founder and Creative Director J. Todd Coleman posted on Twitter. “We had a good 7-hour+ run this morning, so hopefully once we isolate this issue and resolve it, we can get back to that level of predictability. Thanks for your patience.”

The team was forced to take the servers offline for a few hours to address the issues and a reward redemption bug that resulted in lost rewards. The servers came back online roughly six hours later with reward redemptions temporarily disabled.

According to ArtCraft Executive Producer Gordon Walton, players who automatically collected their rewards using the “Claim All” button experienced a bug that resulted in locked or lost items. Walton says that the items aren’t lost and that the team is working to fix the issue and that they will be sending emails to affected players as soon as they can.

Meanwhile, the developers were able to hold their monthly Q&A livestream for July just before the launch troubles started. You can check that out right after the break.
