Crowfall's Soft Launched Pushed Back to 2019, Alpha Testing Begins Later This Year

Crowfall developers posted a their mid-year founder's update today highlighting progress the game has made so far in 2018 and what's in store for the highly anticipated crowd funded MMO. The big takeaway is that while alpha testing is still set to happen later this year (end of Summer), the game's soft launch has been pushed back to 2019.

This continues to be our philosophy of development: the game experience is paramount. We firmly believe is the right path forward. These changes aren’t free, however, so we should recognize that more changes to core systems means more time before launch. As a result, I think it’s clear that our soft launch is not going to happen by the end of the year.

In some more positive news, Crowfall reached a publishing agreement to distribute the game in Russia and CIS territories. The game also licensed its engine to another company, which should bring in more money to continue funding Crowfall as well as validate the strength of the engine.

So much for drawing a "line in the sand" to launch in 2018.
