Dark Eden and Yulgang (Scions of Fate) Will Launch as Blockchain Powered Play to Earn MMORPGs

Wemade, the South Korean developer behind the 'play to earn' crypto MMORPG Mir 4, announced in their last earnings report that they will be releasing additional games on their WeMix blockchain platform and 2 of those games caught my eye - DarkEden and Yulgang (Scions of Fate). Both of these franchises existed as PC MMORPGs for over a decade. Darkeden launched back in 1997 and Scions of Fate has been around since 2006.

No word on when any of these new titles will release, but given the enormous success of Mir 4, these new blockchain powered MMORPGs definitely have a shot at success, though Mir 4's popularity has more to do with its play to earn crypto gimmicks than its gameplay, as the core gameplay in Mir 4 isn't anything special; It's an unpolished auto-play mobile MMORPG. Still, the success of Mir 4 is absolutely staggering. WeMade mentioned in their latest earnings report that the game has 1 million concurrent users in October 2021.

While there's been no announcement on DarkEden or Scions of Fate, Rise of Stars is running a pre-registration event. Learn more about Wemade and their blockchain powered games on WeMix.
