DayZ Forums Hacked

If you’re the type of person who uses one password for everything, and a member of the DayZ forums, then this might be a good time to change your passwords my friend. Over a week ago, DayZ developers, Bohemia Interactive, tweeted that they’ve experienced a security breach in their forums. This was further confirmed when multiple users reported receiving emails from the game developer last night.

Survivors, We've experience an outside security breach of our forums. We suggest playing it safe and changing your password just in case.

According to the email, “A security incident occurred on forums.dayzgame.com recently. According to our investigation all usernames, emails and passwords from forums.dayzgame.com were accessed and downloaded by hackers.” Additionally, the developers also stated that, “While the passwords were not stored in plain text, but in a more secure form, it is highly recommended that if you have used the same password elsewhere you change it immediately on all applicable websites and services.”

The DayZ forums, along with the game's official website, are now down for maintenance as Bohemia Interactive ups their security measures by replacing the current forum login system with the more secure Bohemia Account system used in the main Bohemia Interactive forums and Store.
