Diablo 4 Boosts Echo Of Duriel Drop Rates For The Holidays But Nerfs Metamorphosis Duration

In the spirit of the holidays, Blizzard Entertainment rolled out a surprise patch for Diablo 4 that bumped up the drop rate of Echo of Duriel loot for a limited time. From now until January 8, players will get to enjoy double drop rates for Uber Unique items from the boss encounter.

The increased drop rate is also in response to player complaints on the current drop rates, particularly for those returning to the game after an extended break. This should give returning players a chance to catch up and existing ones to obtain more rare loot over the next two weeks or so.

The general consensus, however, is that the buffed up drop rates is too little, too late. Most players would rather wait for the addition of more high-tier loot and Uber Uniques when Season 3 begins on January 24.

“Too late, I’m not spending my Xmas doing [material] farming for items that’ll be useless in weeks,” wrote one Reddit user.

In addition to the drop rate boost, the team has also buffed the damage of the Metamorphosis vampiric power but nerfed its duration to no longer scale with a character’s level. You’ll now stay in bat form for just 2.5 seconds regardless of your level.

Details can be found in the full patch notes on the Diablo 4 official site.
