Blizzard Entertainment is hoping to quell the wildly negative feedback that it received from Diablo 4’s recent patch with upcoming fixes, improvements, and greater transparency before deploying major changes.

Season of the Malignant hit the live servers earlier this week with surprise nerfs for classes across the board. The unexpected changes naturally drew the ire of Diablo 4 players, particularly those rolling Barbarians. In response, the developers will be buffing the Sorcerer and Barbarian and adjusting a boatload of other things based on player feedback in Patch 1.1.1 that’s expected to arrive in “a couple of weeks.”

The team also promised to reveal any major gameplay changes and adjustment ahead of time and will be releasing patch notes ahead of time to give players time to review them before they arrive. They’ll also be hosting more developer streams going forward to walk players through upcoming changes and offer insight into why they’re making them.

Additionally, they also promised to pace out bigger adjustments to ensure that they’ll be able to offer alternative builds should they decide to roll out nerfs in the future.

On the subject of upcoming changes, the developers plan to tweak XP gains to make progression through level 1-100 faster, lower respect costs by 40%, and add an extra stash tab. The aforementioned changes and more will be discussed in a developer stream scheduled for next Friday.

In the meantime, the team has rolled out a smaller hotfix to address some of the more glaring issues with the Season of the Malignant update. You can check out the full patch notes on the Diablo 4 official site.
