Diablo 4 will be opening its doors to a new audience when Season 2: Season of Blood begins on October 17th. Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the popular action role-playing game will be making its way to Steam alongside the launch of its vampire-themed second season.

“On October 17, the next Diablo IV season, Season of Blood, will launch with a variety of new content,” the studio announced. “Players can look forward to an all-new Questline, Vampiric Powers, 5 additional endgame bosses, and much more. In addition to this, the upcoming Patch 1.2.0 will bring with it many quality-of-life updates including changes to mounts, renown, Nightmare Dungeons, faster XP gain, and more.”

Season of Blood will also bring the Blood Harvest season event, various quality-of-life improvements to player stashes, the ability to skip the campaign and jump right into seasonal content after completing the prologue, and a 40% increase to XP gains compared to Season of the Malignant.

As for the Steam launch, it will offer cross-play and cross-save functionality but will still require you to link your Battle.net account to be able to play. Essentially, Blizzard is just using Steam as an additional storefront to distribute the Diablo title.
