Diablo Immortal is celebrating Sanctuary’s version of Lunar New Year together with the help of a Xian god as the free-to-play MMOARPG ushers in its new Tong-Shi Renewal event. The limited-time event is now live and will run until February 25 at 2:59 a.m. server time, giving players the chance to earn special event currency by completing various tasks.

“Tong-Shi—a god of the Xian pantheon—invites you to his Renewal, a call to bask in the fading glow of a finished year and begin the cycle anew, and welcome a new year with open arms and optimism.”

You’ll be able to complete five different tasks to earn Red Bags and Tseym. These tasks include completing dungeons, Elder Rifts, and bounties, as well as killing elite monsters and defeating a boss named Jingun, a.k.a. the Eater of Mountains.

Red Bags contain various rewards and can be gifted to either your friends or your clan. In the spirit of the season, you won’t be able to open the bag yourself, but you do get rewards for sending them in addition to those that you get when you open Red Bags gifted to you. Tseym, on the other hand, can be turned in for a random reward and contributes 500 gold to Tong-Shi’s Trove which will then grant you double the amount you put in if you claim after February 17.

There’s no hard limit on how many times you can complete the event tasks, but you’ll only be able to earn up to a maximum of 30 Red Bags and 100 Tseym per week.

In addition to kicking off the Lunar New Year event, this week’s update also adds new bounties, introduces various updates to familiars, and sets the stage for the return of several in-game events. The Season 23 battle pass will also go live on February 15.

Due to the upcoming real-world holiday, Diablo Immortal’s next update will be delayed by a week, which puts its release three weeks from now.
