Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have taken the wraps off the next Neverwinter expansion, revealing the title and release date for the fantasy MMORPG’s 22nd module. Dubbed Dragonbone Vale, the new module will be launching on PC on January 11th and on consoles on February 8th.

“The upcoming update for the free-to-play Dungeons & Dragons MMORPG will have adventurers return to the Sword Coast to stop Valindra Shadowmantle and the Cult of the Dragon as they plan to bring undeath to dragons across Faerûn and beyond.”

Alongside the new campaign, Dragonbone Vale will also come with a new adventure zone, a never-before-seen grappling hook mechanic, the new Crown of Keldegonn 10-player trial featuring the return of the evil elven wizard Valindra, and new Heroic Encounters. The module will also introduce revamped Enchantment and Refinement systems along with other tweaks and improvements.

“For the first time ever in Neverwinter, players will be able to zip around specific, designated areas of the Dragonbone Vale adventure zone with a new grappling hook, making exploration even faster and more epic than ever before. At the beginning of the module’s campaign, players will be given this tool to equip and explore all the areas the zone has to offer, with select areas offering story events and rewards.”

The team also teased the next content coming to the game, called Scaleblight Mythal, which will feature the conclusion of the Dragonbone Vale narrative and will add a massive new region to explore. That’s coming to PC on February 8th and to consoles on March 8th.
