Dynamight Studios And Gamigo Announce The End Of Their Partnership

Fractured Online, the sandbox game developed by Dynamight Studios, has been in limbo since last Christmas when it was caught up in a storm of publisher drama and peculiar communication.

After Gamigo picked up publishing rights for the game in 2020, it went into early access in the fall of 2021, but was soon pulled due to layoffs and closures at Gamigo. Fractured Online then disappeared from Gamigo's website, but Dynamight Studios claimed it was unrelated to the decision to end paid early access and return the game to closed testing.

However, the game's future may be looking up now that the studios have announced the dissolution of their partnership in a joint letter on the Fractured Online website.

“As many of you know, the game entered closed development at the end of 2022 due to technical issues with a third-party backend platform. In order for these issues to be addressed fully, gamigo and Dynamight Studios have now resolved to part ways in 2023,” announced both parties.

“This means Fractured Online will cease to be part of the gamigo portfolio and will be operated by Dynamight Studios. While we announce this news with a heavy heart, we all believe it is the best path for both the game and its continued development moving forward,” they added.

While Fractured Online remains in closed development users will be able to transfer their account data from Gamigo to Dynamight Studios. Once this is completed, the game will undergo a time-limited test via the official site before becoming available again on Steam, with no more server wipes planned.

Dynamight Studios CEO Jacopo Gallelli has expressed his excitement about the game's future in the official Discord, noting that the rights to Fractured Online are now back in the hands of Dynamight Studios, which hints at the possibility that they may have sold the game to Gamigo instead of simply granting them a license to publish it. He also mentioned a wipe following major game revisions and the return of the old website. Fans of the game can look forward to its return, now with a renewed sense of independence and direction.
