Australian MMO TitanReach is now free-to-play, giving interested players a chance to try out the game for a limited-time without having to pay the $38 buy-in price. The game will be free-to-play until the start of Closed Alpha later this year.

The free-to-play period is aimed at bringing more players into the skill-based social MMORPG which has run into funding problems in the past after a failed $420,000 Kickstarter and a scrapped Indiegogo campaign.

“That means anyone with an account on the TitanReach website will be able to play for free until the closed alpha begins,” said developer Square Root Studios. “This will not only open the game up to a lot more people but allows those of you who have supported us but didn’t have the financial means to play the game.”

The studio is also selling limited-edition Closed Alpha packs containing exclusive items that will only be available while the packs are on sale. The Closed Alpha packs are available in Bronze, Gold, and Silver tiers and will be purchasable only until October 1. Closed Alpha testing is scheduled to begin in Q4 2021, probably around the end of November or early December.
