Titan Reach Devs Concede Defeat On Kickstarter, Plans IndieGogo With A Smaller Funding Goal

titan reach trading post group bannerWith just a few hours to go until their Kickstarter campaign ends, it looks like Square Root Studios won’t be reaching their funding goal for Titan Reach which they describe as a modern take on old-school MMORPGs. As of this writing, they’ve received just over $127,000 of pledges which falls extremely short of their $419,000 funding goal.

The Australian independent studio thanked all the fans who pledged their support and is now planning their next step to help fund the game’s development. “It has been amazing to see the amount of people who are excited about TitanReach,” wrote Square Root. “Unfortunately, we must deal with the fact that our Kickstarter campaign is not going to reach its goal. [. . .] it would be unrealistic to imagine otherwise. However, this will not be the end of TitanReach. We have learnt a lot from the last month, and we will continue to develop the game with these lessons in mind.”

According to the studio, they will be launching an Indiegogo campaign in 8 weeks for $200k AUD (roughly $142k USD) which is less than half of their Kickstarter funding goal. The funds raised, should the campaign be successful, will go towards the development of the systems required for an Alpha build. The developers are also looking to add more rewards for lower tier pledges in an effort to encourage more people to pledge their support.
