Echo Of Soul To Receive Massive "Phoenix" Update By The End Of The Year

Echo of Soul hasn't had the best luck over the years. Despite staying online in the West continuously under publisher Aeria Games, it was shut down in China and even its home country of Korea before being resurrected in each region by new publishers. Even here in the West where it has remained online, according to SteamCharts, its peak concurrent user count hasn't exceeded 200 in some time.

Despite that, Aeria isn't quite ready to give up on the game. According to MMOCulture, the publisher has signed a new contract with developer Mr. Blue to create a "massive update" called "Phoenix" by the end of the year. No details about the update were given; all we've got to go on is the name and the image seen above.

The question is whether the name of the Phoenix update is symbolic. Do Aeria and Mr. Blue intend for Echo of Soul to rise again, like a phoenix rising from the ashes? If so, what major changes are in store for the game? Are they planning a massive overhaul, as Aeria has asked for with Bless, or will it simply be a massive content update? Unfortunately, we don't know yet, but be sure to let us know what you think in the comments.
