ECO Cancels "Destroyer of Worlds" Tier And Offers Refunds

Upcoming Ecosystem Survival MMO, ECO, has announced a Doomsday Device tier for their Kickstarter and have already rescinded it. The new tier allowed players who paid for it at $750 USD to be the sole holders of a power that allows them to effectively steal technology and trigger the apocalypse— making themselves into possible villains for the game. This met intense community backlash— not at the system, but at the fact that such an interesting and core feature was gated by a Kickstarter backer tier.

Due to the complaints from backers creator John Krajewski has announced the cancelling of the tier and refunds for all those who purchased it. According to the announcement, its so that they won't be gated by backer tiers and will be able to possibly offer the system to all players in the future. Kudos for listening to your community ECO!
