Elder Scrolls Online Is Re-Christening Its Endless Archive Dungeon As Infinite Archive

Starting on December 18, Elder Scrolls Online’s newly opened Endless Archive dungeon will no longer be endless but will instead be infinite. ZeniMax Online Studios announced that it will be renaming the PvE activity to Infinite Archive. The name change will initially be reflected in all in-game and promotional texts, with new voiceovers coming in a future update.

The studio didn’t give a reason for the name change, but Redditors believe that it may be due to a trademark conflict, considering the time and resources needed to make the change, voiceovers included. The conflict is presumably with SEGA’s Endless roguelite franchise which recently got a new addition with the launch of Endless Dungeon in October.

In any case, expect to see the infinite dungeon to sport a new monicker next week. The trailer title has also been updated but the actual content still shows the old name, which will probably remain as it is.
