Aside from a new region and story quests, one of the key features of Elder Scrolls Online’s much-awaited High Isle Chapter is the new Tales of Tribute collectible card game. ZeniMax Online dives into the new mini-game in their latest preview blog.

Players will be able to unlock a total of eight Patron deck types inspired by an organization or individual in Tamriel. As with traditional collectible card games, each deck type will represent a particular playstyle. The St. Pelin deck, for example, is based on the High Rock’s Order of St. Pelin and is all about fielding defensive cards and collecting Power, a material required to summon the hero-type Patron cards, remove opponent cards on the board, or converted to Prestige, which is one of the ways to win a game.

“In Tales of Tribute, there is more than one path to victory. In fact, there are two! The first method of defeating your opponent is to collect 40 or more Prestige.

Beyond scoring 40 or more Prestige, you must also maintain that lead through your opponent’s next turn. If your opponent can score higher than you in their following turn, then you must attempt to gain an even larger lead. This process will continue until one player cannot gain a lead over the other during their turn or either one of you hits 80 total.

The second path to victory involves gaining the favor of all four patrons by the end of your turn. If you do, regardless of accumulated Prestige, you automatically win.”

Tales of Tribute will be available as soon as High Isle launches on June 6th on PC/Mac and June 21st on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. In the meantime, you can check out the full preview blog on the Elder Scrolls Online official site to find out more about the new card game.
