Elder Scrolls Online Rolls Starts Testing Update 40, Plans Japanese Console Launch

ZeniMax Online Studios is preparing for Update 40’s release by getting Elder Scrolls Online players to put it through its paces before it goes live. The update is now available for testing on the public test server along with its new Endless Archive dungeon and the new group finder tool.
“Update 40 features the new PvE gameplay activity, Endless Archive, where you must battle your way through dynamic stages with monsters and bosses you’ve encountered all throughout Tamriel,” the studio announced. “Endless Archive can be played solo, or with a friend or Companion, and gives you the opportunity to obtain all sorts of new loot and collectibles including new Class Item Sets, a unique mount, and more.”
Update 40 will also introduce the new Grand Master Crafting Stations which consolidates hundreds of tradeskill crafting stations into a new multi-purpose crafting station. The update also features a revamp of jewelry crafting, various improvements to the rewards granted by the Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, Undaunted daily quests, and a new Tales of Tribute patron deck.
Meanwhile, ZeniMax recently announced its plans to launch Elder Scrolls Online on consoles in Japan this fall with full Japanese language support. As for Update 40, it’s set to hit the live servers on October 30th. You can check out the latest PTS release notes here.
