Elyon Announces Schedule And Open Applications For First Western Closed Beta

elyon dragon bannerKakao Games and Bluehole Studio have just announced the schedule and opened registrations for the first closed beta test for the western port of Elyon, formerly Ascent: Infinite Realm.

“Elyon is a fantasy MMORPG set in a world where two sovereign realms, Vulpin and Ontari, are at war for the control of ‘Elyon,’ a portal that leads to paradise. Players will be able to customize their skills, craft gear, and engage in large scale Realm vs Realm battles to secure victory for their Realm.”

Players from North America, Europe, and Oceania can apply for a slot in the upcoming test via the official site from now until April 25. Testing will kick off on May 6 and will run until May 10.

Selected participants will also get an extra CBT1 key that they can give to a friend. Applicants who aren’t selected for the initial round of testing can also secure keys through various promotions and events that the team will be running in the weeks leading up to the test.

The test will not be covered by an NDA so you can share screenshots and stream the game as much as you like. The developers, however, warn players that the CBT1 build will be missing some features and content that are already available on the Korean version of the game. The cash shop will also be absent from the initial CBT build, although players will be able to buy certain premium items directly from an NPC for 1 gold to give the team a chance to test the waters before actually monetizing the game.

“We are aiming to launch Elyon on a version as close to the Korean one as we can, with localization speed being the deciding factor. In the beginning of the service we will be a bit behind in terms of content, it is nonetheless our goal to catch up and shrink the gap between the Korean and the west ASAP,” said Bluehole.
