Kakao Games will be holding one last Elyon closed beta test ahead of the highly-awaited Korean MMORPG's official western launch in September. The next closed beta starts August 18 and will feature a few new additions to the beta build, including three new PvP arenas: Brawler Arena, Honor Arena, and Captain Battle.

“You probably all know about classic 1vs1, 2vs2, and 3vs3 Arena matches. It has a simple concept: make your enemy or enemies suffer on your way to glory! While the suffering and the celebrating remain, we've added some new modes with different rules on the way to beat your enemy to a pulp.”

The Brawler Arena is a practice ground of sorts that will allow players to hone their skills or test out new builds without any penalties. Honor Arena, on the other hand, is a 3v3 gladiator battle against members of the opposing faction, while the Captain Battle is a three-round 1v1 match where teams of 3 players decide on who fights first, second, and third.

“[. . .] The end goal is to have at least one of your teammates standing while all of your opponents eat dirt. This obviously means that if you are the third fighter of an amazing team, chances are that you won't be fighting at all, but you still get to bask in the victory,” explained the devs.

The Clan War battlefield will also be changed to Sky Garden for CBT2 where elevation differences will require players to use wingsuits and gliding to their advantage. In addition, players will also be able to queue up for Battlefields at any time during the beta test.

“We want you to be able to enjoy the content at your own pace wherever possible,” said Kakao. “Needless to say, we will keep an eye on the activity; some adjustments might be necessary during the test.”

Elyon, formerly Ascent: Infinite Realm, will be launching in North America, Europe, and Oceania on September 29.
