Embracer Group has published its Q3 2023 financial report which shows relatively good performance across its portfolio of games. The highlight of the report, however, is confirmation that its subsidiaries are working on not one, not two, but five Lord of the Rings titles following its acquisition of Middle-Earth Enterprises last year.

The Swedish video game holding company previously announced two new games set in Tolkien’s iconic fantasy world: The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria and The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. The former is a multiplayer survival game where players assume the role of Dwarves on a quest to reclaim and rebuild the legendary underground city of Moria beneath the Misty Mountains, while the latter is a single-player stealth adventure game that drops players into Gollum’s shoes as he tries to escape from Mordor.

Three more unannounced Lord of the Rings titles are reportedly in the works, all of which will be launching within the next two years. Embracer has yet to reveal any information about the upcoming games or even what platform they’ll come out on. Hopefully, the company will toss us a few crumbs sooner rather than later.

As for Embracer’s other games, Star Trek Online and Neverwinter are currently among the top 10 back catalog drivers for the company alongside other popular titles such as Borderlands 3, Chivalry 2, and Exodus.
