Enad Global 7 Gets Full Ownership Of Daybreak Games For $300M

daybreak game company hqEnad Global 7 continues to gobble up development studios as they announce their full acquisition of Daybreak Game Company (formerly Sony Online Entertainment) to the tune of $300 million. Daybreak owns a number of smaller studios and sub-studios and have a number of popular MMOs under their belot including EverQuest, EverQuest 2, PlanetSide 2, and DC Online Universe.

According to the official press release, Daybreak owner Jason Epstein will hold approximately 10 percent of outstanding shares and votes in EG7 while the current Daybreak shareholders will get approximately 3 percent.

“On behalf of the Daybreak team and all of our players, we are elated to be joining the EG7 family,” said Epstein. “The combined companies are strategically positioned to expand Daybreak’s unique and iconic portfolio of live games and will help amplify our passion for making great games for our awesome communities. Daybreak also reportedly owns Standing Stone Games and their MMOs, namely: Dungeons and Dragons Online and Lord of the Rings Online. Over the past few years, Daybreak has neither confirmed nor denied these reports but the EG7 press release finally sheds light on the matter.

“The acquisition of Daybreak will further strengthen and add diversification to EG7’s IP portfolio through acquisition of best-in-class original and third-party IPs (EverQuest, The Lord of the Rings, Dungeons & Dragons, DC Universe Online). Daybreak will also add a strong team of both operationally and strategically capable individuals.”
