Fortnite will be closing its doors in China later this month for unannounced reasons, although speculation is rife that it might be related to the Chinese government’s stricter regulations on gaming access and the video games industry in general. These new regulations include a three-hour-per-week limit on game time for minors and a “correct set of values” that game developers must adhere to in order to get approval from the government.

The Chinese regulatory branch will also be flagging games with “blurred moral boundaries”, those with effeminate male characters, and games that make use of Japanese visual styles. “Some games have blurred moral boundaries. Players can choose to be either good or evil... but we don't think that games should give players this choice...,” the internal memo reads.

Fortnite China will officially be shutting down on November 15th with a series of events planned and V-bucks to be given out before the servers are finally taken offline. Details can be found on the Fortnite China official site.
